Hello! Rachel here today. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I decided to create a beautiful bookmark in lovely pink tones. I used the gorgeous Splendid Roses stamp set as my focal image.
I started by cutting my bookmark from some Neenah Solar White cardstock (I actually cut two, but I'll get to the second piece later). I used my MISTI to stamp my roses on the bottom of the bookmark and then colored them in using my Copics. I used R22, R20, and R11 for my pinks and YG99, YG97, and YG99 for my greens. I added my gray halo around the image using C3, C1, and C00. When I was finished with my coloring, I used my MISTI to add my sentiment in a lovely heat embossed rose gold. I love heat embossing sentiments. I think it makes them stand out. Now back to that second bookmark piece...
I took my second bookmark and used some Multi Medium Matte to adhere it to the back of my colored bookmark. The pieces are symmetrical, so it covers the bleeding from my Copics and the pierced piece is visible on the back as well. It gives it a lovely finished look. I grabbed a piece of baker's twine from stash and threaded it through the top to complete my bookmark.
Here's a close up of the beautiful shine from the embossing powder. I just adore it!
