Grace’s Shaker Card

Hi everyone, Heidi here, today I would like to show you this fun shaker card, for which I used several Kennedy Grace Creations products. For all the elements on my card I choose colours that worked well with the sequins mix that I wanted to use, which is the Kennedy Grace Creations “Rainbow Sherbet “ Shaker Bits & Things mix.

To get this card started I stamped one of the flowers from the Kennedy Grace Creations “Grace’s Little Note “ stamp set onto Copic friendly paper using Memento “Tuxedo Black “ ink. I coloured the flower using the following Copic Sketch Marker colours: E000, YR01, G40, YG06, G94 and Y000 (which is a light yellow, around the outer edges). Next I fussy cut the image out using my Fiskars scissors.

Then I started working on the shaker panel: I die cut a scalloped panel out of some light yellow card stock using the middle sized die in the Kennedy Grace Creations “Scalloped Stitched Stacked Rectangle “ die set, and also a square stitched panel using one of the dies in the My Favorite Things “Stitched Rectangle STAX “ die set from some white linen textured card stock. I used one of the smaller stitched dies from the same My Favorite Things die set to cut away the inner rectangles from both the yellow and the white panel, creating the shaker element window. For the actual window I used a piece of acetate sheet, cut to the right size with my scissors. I adhered these three parts together using tape runner (for the acetate window) and Ranger Medium Matte.
The sequins that I will put in later on will need room to move freely so I used two millimetre thick foam tape to create the “walls “ for the shaker window. I used my anti-static powder tool around the inner edges to reduce the stickiness from the foam tape. Then I set this piece aside.

For my card base I choose a light pink shimmery colour (from my local craft store). I die cut two additional rectangle mats from the same yellow and white card stock that I used before (using dies from my rectangle Crea-Nest-Lies XXL die set) and adhered them together using liquid glue. These panels I mounted onto the pink card base using one millimetre thick foam tape.

The last piece that I created for this card is the panel for the sentiment: for this I die cut a rectangle from the same white linen textured card stock as I used before, using one of the dies from the same My Favorite Things die set. On this panel I stamped one of the sentiments from the Kennedy Grace Creations “Beautiful Blooms - Sweet Rose “ stamp set, using Versafine “Onyx Black “ ink and my MISTI (because the linen textured card stock is a bit uneven I stamped twice, just to be sure that the sentiment would be readable). I adhered some sequins from the mix that I’m using onto this panel using Ranger Medium Matte (so that some of the sequins stay at the top even when the card is standing up, that way it will look more balanced).

And then it’s time to put this card together: I found some matching ribbon in my stash that I adhered around the shaker window, using the “walls “ as my adhesive for the ribbon to stick to. I already mounted the bigger white and yellow rectangle mats on the card base earlier on, now I can adhere the panel with the sentiment on there using liquid glue. I poured the sequins from the Kennedy Grace Creations “Rainbow Sherbet “ Shaker Bits & Things mix on this panel and placed the shaker window over it and for my final element I adhered the coloured flower on top using Ranger Medium Matte.

That’s it for today’s fun project, I hope you enjoyed and until the next time, have a creative day!

One Layered Card - Featuring Kennedy Grace Creations: Time To Blossom

Hey folks! I'm back to share a card from the Kennedy Grace Creations New Release! The stamp set I used today is the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . I really enjoyed the simplicity of this set. You could totally heat emboss this and do some fabulous watercoloring, but Copic's seems to be the way to go for me lately so that's what I did. I started by stamping the image twice on my card panel. The only masking I did was a tiny bit on the stem. The name of the game was to keep this super simple folks. As I said, I colored the images with Copic's. Another thing I enjoy about the Time To Blossom Stamp Set is that you could choose any colors you wanted. I chose red-violets and yellow-greens, but seriously peeps, whatever floats your boat and it will looks great! To finish off my card, I used a added a couple of hand drawn lines to the background and I stamped a portion of a stamp that is also in the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . That's it! Easy peasy. T
