To get this card started I die cut a stitched square panel from some Strathmore “Toned Tan“ paper and then I first stamped the giraffe from the Kennedy Grace Creations “Sweet Baby Mine” stamp set with Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink onto this panel (I also created a mask from Post-It paper and adhered that over the giraffe) and then I stamped the sunflower from the Kennedy Grace Creations “Beautiful Bloom - Sunflower” stamp set partly over the giraffe, like it’s growing from behind the giraffe, with Archival “Watering Can” ink. For my sentiment I choose one of the sentiments from the same Kennedy Grace Creations “Sweet Baby Mine“ stamp set and also stamped that onto the panel using the same Versafine ink.
Next I coloured both the sunflower and the giraffe with my Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils and the white coloured pencil from the Caran d ‘Ache Luminance line. From my Polychromos I used the following colours: 129, 103, 102, 185, 108, 168, 173, 187, 283 and 146. When I finished colouring the images I went over some of the black stamped lines, that I lost during the colouring process, with a black Copic MiltiLiner (0.3) and I draw a white line around the top part of the giraffe to place her more in front of the sunflower. For this I used a white Gelly Roll pen.
For some added interest I splattered with some Coliro Pearl Colors by Finetec GmbH in the colour “Pink“ after covering up the sentiment and the giraffe (by putting on the mask again) and then set this panel aside to dry.
In the meantime I die cut a slightly larger panel from some matching green card stock that I edged with some Memento “Olive Grove” ink and using a foam applicator tool. When the splatters were dry I adhered the two panels together using liquid glue and then I finished this card by adhering these combined panel onto a crème coloured linen textured card base.
And that’s it for today’s project! I wish you all a creative day!
