Hello my fellow crafters! I hope you are enjoying a lovely fall day today! I'm stopping by to share my latest project with all of you. Today's card features the lovely Time to Blossom stamp set as well as the Honey Bee sequins.
I had an idea to make a shaker card since I hadn't made one in a really long time. Then I proceeded to make it more complicated than it really was! So to save you that headache, I'm going to just give the basics of what I did. I cut a circle out of Neenah Solar white cardstock, as well as cutting the same circle out of a transparency and a piece of vellum. I lined the vellum up with the opening in the white cardstock, used my embossing buddy and carefully stamped the flower across both pieces of paper. I then added clear embossing powder and heat set it.
I turned the vellum over to the back and colored it with Copic markers. I then used the same markers on the stamped portions on the white cardstock. The colors were Y11, 13, 17 19, YG 21,23, 25 and 95. I used the darker Copics on the vellum piece because the light colors don't hardly show up and used the lighter ones on the cardstock. I created the shaker element and filled it with the Honey Bee sequins. I know they are harder to see but I love the soft look the vellum created!
I layered the shaker onto a black layer of cardstock and added another layer cut with a stitched rectangle die in a lovely yellow. I adhered everything to a white card base.
I stamped the Thinking of you sentiment that is included in the Time to Blossom stamp set onto a scrap piece of black paper, embossed it with white embossing powder and cut it into a little banner. I popped it up with a thin piece fo foam tape to give it added dimension.
For the final touches I added more of the Honey Bee sequins to the front of the card as well as adding some Nuvo Jewel drops. I hope you will give coloring on vellum with Copic markers a try! Be sure to check out all of the fabulous projects in the Kennedy Grace Creations store.
