Grateful

Hi there everyone!  Welcome to the beautiful month of October!!  I'm kicking off the month with a brand new Mood Board to get your creative juices flowing.  Take a look at this fabulous inspiration picture.

Isn't it just gorgeous??  So many things in this picture just jump out at me and it was hard to decide which direction to go.  I chose to work with the Beautiful Blooms-Sweet Rose stamp set.  It's so pretty and verstile!  I stamped the rose image twice on a white piece of cardstock with black ink.  Then I was stumped.  Yep.  Total creative block!  I hate when that happens.  I think the wide open white spaces cause my mind to go blank sometimes.  Anywho, I decided to walk away and come back later.

During my break I watched a few YouTube card videos and scoured through Pinterest.  My almost favorite thing to do when I'm not crafting.  Ah ha, I saw something that got me thinking.  I returned to my desk.  I grabbed a scrap piece of transparency I had laying around and two circle punches.  I punched out two different sized circles.  I browsed through my Distress Oxide inks and picked out Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves.  I randomly started applying the colors through the stencil I had created.

When I was happy with the amount of color, I gave it a quick spritz with water and blotted it dry.  After I let it sit for a few minutes, I added the Grateful sentiment from the You Inspire Me set.  I also added splatters with gold metallic paint and black.  Again, I let it dry for a few minutes.  I dug through my (ahem) extensive die collection for just the right rectangle.  Love the stitching details on it!

I also went through my card stock collection to figure out what color to use.  I decided to show the green some love since I didn't apply as much of it on the white base.  I think it helps to tie it together a little better.  I didn't like it plain so I hunted around to find a background stamp just to give it that little something extra.  I adhered the white panel to the card base with foam tape.  For the finishing touch I added Nuvo Crystal drops in coordinating colors.

Without any further delay, here is the completed project!

I hope I have managed to send a little inspiration your way.  I encourage you to make something fun using the Mood Board inspiration picture.  We'd love to see you share it over on the Kennedy Grace Creations Fan page or on Instagram.  Or anywhere else you'd like to share!  Add #KennedyGraceCreations to help us find your lovely work.

Catch ya later!
