Lots of Flowers

Hi everyone, Heidi here, today I would like to show you a card featuring a lot of flowers!

As of October every KGC design team member will create one card per month using a mood board. This is the mood board for October, isn’t it beautiful? It just screams autumn to me!:

I liked all the different flowers and the yellowy, orange colours with a splash of green. That inspired me to create a card using a combination of different stamp sets.

To get this card started I stamped the flowers from two stamp sets each twice on Strathmore “Bristol Smooth Surface“ paper using Versafine “Onyx Black“ ink and using my MISTI. I clear heat embossed afterwards. For this I choose the KGC “Splendid Roses“ and the KGC “Sunflower“ stamp sets.

Then I coloured all the flowers using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and my Pentel Aqua Brush.
I used the following Zig colours, inspired by the colours shown on the mood board: Lemon Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, Brown, Pale Green, May Green, Deep Green, Light Gray and Gray Brown.

After the colouring was dry I fussy cut all the flowers out using my Fiskars scissors. I decided on a grey coloured underground (like the colour shown in the mood board). For this I die cut a stitched square panel from some matching grey card stock and using one of my Crea-Nest-Lies XXL dies. I also die cut a mat for this grey panel using a pale orangy card stock and one of my other Crea-Nest-Lies XXL die sets, choosing a slightly larger size. I adhered those two mats together using liquid glue and adhered these combined mats to a white card base with one millimetre thick foam tape.
Then I arranged my flowers on top and adhered them with liquid glue and popping up some of the edges with two millimetre thick foam tape, to creation some dimension.

For my sentiment I choose one of the sentiments from the KGC “Beautiful Blooms - Sweet Rose“ stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto some white card stock (the same as I used for my card base) using Versafine “Onyx Black “ ink and clear heat embossing afterwards. I die cut a panel from this sentiment using one of the dies in the My Favorite Things “Stitched Rectangle STAX“ die set.
And to finish this card I adhered the sentiment to the card with one millimetre thick foam tape.

That’s it for today, I wish you all a creative day!
