Happy New Year from Kennedy Grace Creations!

Happy New Year to you all!  It's Brenda here, and I'm kicking off 2018 for Kennedy Grace Creations .  This month we are switching it up a bit and instead of having a mood board, we have a fun Tic Tac Toe Board for inspiration. I picked the bottom row to inspire my card so I will be using buttons, sequins and flowers on my creation.  It seemed so perfect with all the wonderful flower sets and the awesome sequin collections.  I chose to use the beautiful stamp set Kindness Medley  and a wonderful sequin collection called Enchanted Evening .  Here's what happened - I stamped the flower (Tic) image three times on heavyweight vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I colored the flowers on the back of the vellum using Copic Markers.  The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine ink to get the nice dark image.  I love the size of this stamp which is also in the Kindness Medley set.  I put my ScanNCut ...

A Christmas Note

It's Brenda back with another share.  Can you believe, if you celebrate Christmas, only 6 more days.  I have to admit, I still have a few cards to post tomorrow but thankfully they were all done awhile back.  I'm sharing one with you today that I made using Grace's Little Note  from the  Kennedy Grace Creations  store. Grace's Little Note For this card I used a masking technique to stamp the flowers along the diagonal and then fussy cut them along the leafy edge.  I LOVE fussy cutting and find it to be a wonderful way to just tune out and enjoy my crafty time.  The flowers were colored with Copic markers with a little Stickles added to the center and then scattered for some shine.  I chose to color them red and green for that traditional Christmas feel but I tell you these Grace's Little Note flowers would work well in any color for any occasion . The sentiments were added, one die cut the other heat embossed.  Here ...

Heartfelt Thanks with Erica

Hello, Erica back on the blog today. I've swapped a day with poor Rachel who has done her back in but she's going to cover one of my dates while I'm moving house at the end of the month and beginning of next. A Thank You card seemed appropriate for today's post with that in mind. I stamped up the lovely bloom from  Just A Rose  and coloured it in with my Copic markers. I wanted a light and bright look so I used a flicking motion and left plenty of white space on the petals. The leaves I did in a similar manner but the stamens in the middle got a dark pink colour. I fussy cut the flower out and added foam tape to the back of it while I was in a cutting frenzy. Once that was done I set it aside and started on the background. Grabbing my new Distress Oxide inks I blended some green shades all over a card panel. My first idea was to stamp up some leaves on it and make it look like a rose bush on which the flower would sit. I decided on trying something new inste...

Distress Oxide experiment!

Hello and welcome to the Kennedy Grace Creations blog this fine day! Today I have a fun and different card for you as I tried something out with my new Distress Oxide inks and I thought I'd share it with you. I have been playing with different ways of using them and this was a successful attempt, it's a back-to-front distress ink blending thing... ish... sorta. Right, let's get to it! First off I die cut a panel in Strathmore Bristol Vellum water colour card stock which was going to be the front part of the card. Then I got the  Just A Rose  stamp set out and stamped it on a large piece of masking film, using a craft scalpel I cut out the rose part only. Are you getting where I'm going with this? Yeah? Can you see it? As I was doing a flower I decided to use Worn Lipstick and blended it over the "flower hole". I thought the flower needed a little bit of detail so I dabbled a little bit of Burnt Brick using a brush to created tiny...

Spring birthday card

Hello, hello, hello! Erica on the blog today, how are we all doing? Excited about Easter and having a few days off? We don't really do anything special for Easter in our house apart from having some chocolate Easter eggs and I do decorate a little bit. The decorating is more for a spring-y feel as I adore spring with all the flowers that pop up, buds on all the bushes and trees, warmer and longer days. It all makes me happy. Today's card is yellow and green, which are in my mind typical spring colours. I started out by stamping the  Beautiful Bloom-Sweet Rose  flower stamp on Strathmore Bristol Vellum water colour paper, I heat embossed it in white as my plan was to use my Derwent Inktense pencils for the colouring. I have neglected these watercolour pencils for a while and thought it would be nice to change things up a little from the Zig markers and Gansai Tambi watercolours I have used a lot recently. I started with the leaves and with a water colour brush dropped g...
