Sharing a little green

Hi gang!  I wanted to stop by and share a little bit of green with you today.  I keep hoping and wishing for Spring to hurry up and arrive!  I decided to create a little spring inside my craft room.  This card features a lovely little flower bunch from Grace's Happy Hearts .  I colored the flowers with some Zig Clean Color real brush markers and a water brush.  The orginal image was stamped on to Bristol smooth cardstock. I kept the card very simple.  I cut out the flowers with a die from MFT Stamps and used a larger die from the same set to cut out the striped paper.  All of the patterned papers are from the Vivienne paper pad by Basic Grey. For the finishing touch I added 3 sequins from the Lemon Sorbet sequin mix.  And that's it for my card today.  I hope you see some signs of Spring soon! ~Kristina Please be sure to follow the Kennedy Grace Creations blog , facebook , twitter , instagram and pinterest . Winter hugs

Winter is in full swing it would seem.  It is currently snowing like crazy as I type up this post.  Is it spring yet?  LOL!  We've got a new inspiration board for Kennedy Grace Creations this month.  Take a peek. You are supposed to pick three elements, making a winning row of Tic-Tac-Toe.  I chose to use the diagonal Die Cut, Embossing and Flowers row.  Kennedy Grace Creations has many different floral sets to pick from so it was hard to narrow it down.  I picked Grace's Happy Heart . I stamped the floral image on a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock with a waterproof black ink.  I picked out three different Stampin Up colors to work with--Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry and Pool party.  I squeezed the ink pad lids to get a pool of ink.  I then used a water brush to pick up the colors.  I painted the flowers with the Rich Razzleberry and used the indigo and pool colors for the leaves and stems.   ...

Purple Hello card

Hello there! Erica here with my last blog post for July. Today I'm steering away from both birthday and thank you cards if you can believe it..! Yep, today's card is a simple 'hello' one. With some water coloured flowers of course. Because why not? I didn't really have a design in mind when I started this card, I just wanted to do some colouring and have some me-time. Right now, we have hydrangeas blooming all around our neighbourhood and one of my favourite colours is the one that is blue/purple. I love that deep, intense colour and tried replicating that on my flowers here. Sure, it's not a hydrangea stamp but just work with me for a minute ;-) I picked out one of the little flower stems in the  Grace's Happy Heart  and heat embossed it in white in a pattern on my water colour card stock. I stamped it in such a way that I didn't need a mask as it doesn't overlap anywhere. Usually when I colour with my Zig markers, I use them directly on t...

Pop of colour

Hello! Erica on the blog today with my last card for April. Honestly, time is just whooshing past, or is that just me?? Today I thought I'd try something that I find quite hard when it comes to card making and that's monochrome. Yep, black and white. This is my Everest in card making and colouring. I'm usually all about colours, colours, colours!! Especially with the stamps from  Kennedy Grace Creations  as it's mostly flowers. Well, not one to shirk away from a challenge (even one self-imposed) I had one idea that I pretty much scrapped right away. Mostly because I stamped a flower in the wrong spot on the second stamp so it went into the 'I might look at that later and see what happens' pile. Moving on, as my idea evolved from the mishap, I cut up a square measuring 5"x5" in white card stock. Then I covered the middle with a circle I cut out of masking film. This was more as a guide than anything else though. Once I was ready to start stamping ...

Layered gift tag

Hello, Erica back on the blog! Hey, hey, hello, how are we all doing today? Today's project is a gift tag, something I don't make very often. I'm not sure why but it tends to be right at the back of my 'what to do today' list. To remedy that, I decided to make one and maybe find out why I'm so bad at making these. I made my first mistake right away in that I stamped up some flowers, on copic friendly paper of course, without measuring how big a tag I was going to make. This I didn't even realise until after I had coloured the flowers (one of the flower stems from  Grace's Happy Heart  stamp set). Blah, right? Well, onwards and upwards! I cut out a tag using a Pretty Pink Posh stitched tag die and then stamped up another few flowers on it and coloured those in too. I went quite pink for these flowers and vibrant green for the stems and leaves. Something I've started doing quite recently, being inspired by the wonderful Kathy Racoosin, is outli...

Thanks a Bunch!

Hi all! Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend!  Cammy from Pink Room Therapy Designs here with a project I did back in JUNE!  *GASP!*  These were actually the thank you gifts for my kids' teachers, the school nurse and my daughter's aide.  Because we had four gifts to purchase, I had to keep it small and the grocery store florist came through big time.  They had these great little orchids for $5.  I picked out four, made up sweet tags for each gift bag and they were done!  This was my favorite of the four tags.  I love the richness of the colors and it matched the orchid so well.  I used my MFT die-namics again to create the tags.  I stamped one of the floral images from Grace's Happy Heart  in VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder on each tag.  Then I used a variety of Distress Inks and other dye inks to blend each tag.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Grace's Little Note i...
