A Little Inspiration

Good day all!  It's Brenda here with a few little creations I made using the Kennedy Grace stamp set, Inspirational Verses .  I made these tags to give to co-workers, friends or even as inspiration for myself.  I keep them in my " war binder " ready if they are needed.  If you are not familiar with a war binder, quite simply it is a cross between a planner, bible journal and a scrapbook.   The first three tags were foiled.   The verses were stamped on cardstock with VersaFine onyx black and adhered to the tags. You'll see a lot of shine going on here.  Which I happen to love. This tag was also foiled and a few of the beautiful Kennedy Grace Creations Frozen sequins were added for another pop of shine. The last foiled tag was mounted on a metallic die cut for a little extra pizzazz . The background for this card was smooched with water colors and sequins from the  Autumn  Blessings  mix were adde...

Using Complementary Colours

Hello! It's Donna . I'm back with yet another card using the Friendship Blessings stamp set. I just can't get enough of this stamp. The clean petals make it a dream to colour. I have to admit to going out and purchasing another yellow Copic marker just so I could get the shading I wanted on this image. (I know, I suffer, right?) Once I'd coloured the image in Copics, I cut it out, leaving a white border around the edge. I then used a colour wheel to work out the exact complementary colour of the yellow. It was a blue, with just a hint of red in it. I mixed this colour using my watercolours. You can see that it took two layers to get the colour exactly right - the first set of lines were slightly too blue. The yellow really pops with the complementary colour underneath, don't you think? I spattered some black paint on the background (which I die cut with a wonky stitched rectangle die) before adding the image, and then popping the sentiment up on foam tape...

Grace's Bouquet

Jill here on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog with an elegant Get Well card featuring the stamp set Grace's Little Note .  Although I used another stamp set on this card, I highlighted the Kennedy Grace Creations stamp by coloring it in with bright, vivid Copic markers.  I left the other stamping in  neutral tones or very pale blue to keep the focus on our flowers.  I used a lot of masking on this card, heat- embossing with Ranger's Liquid Platinum embossing powder of the background floral image from The Ton's stamp, Peony Bouquet and then for the crystal bowl from the same stamp set, I used MFT's Hybrid ink in both Grout Grey and Blu Raspberry so that I could add additional Copic coloring for shading and the water in the bowl. Masking of the flowers that allowed me to heat-emboss around them. For added interest, I partial die cut the crystal bowl using the matching die, added some Fun Foam to the back to give it dimension, then adhered it on top...

Just a Rose

We have a beautiful mood board for February. So much inspiration to choose from. I decided to go with the colors and the flower as my inspiration for this card. I started by heat embossing this gorgeous bloom from the Kennedy Grace Creations " Just a Rose " stamp set. The flower was colored with watercolors and fussy cut from the watercolor paper. The watercolor background was created by smooching watercolors around on Canson watercolor paper. To get this look, the colors were each dried after they were placed.  The panel was cut with a stitched rectangle die. The sentiment is from the Kennedy Grace Creations set, " Grace's Little Note ". The card was finished off with Kennedy Grace Chantilly Cream sequin mix. Thanks for stopping buy and taking a look! Blessings, Brenda Please be sure to follow the Kennedy Grace Creations blog , facebook , twitter , instagram and pinterest . Our Design Team has great projects to inspire you ...

Split Images - February Mood Board

Hello Kennedy Grace Family! It's Donna here, and we've been sweltering here in Southern Australia. So what a delight it is to have such a beautiful cool mood board to work with. I've chosen the flags as my inspiration and have tried to recreate some of the look of them on my card. I cut several tags using a die in my stash, then laid them on a piece of scrap paper, attaching them with repositional adhesive with just the same spacing as I wanted on the card. I placed this in my MISTI stamping tool and stamped the gorgeous rose image from the Just a Rose stamp set across the tags in clear ink. I then heat embossed in white. I placed a mask over this rose and the stamped one of the images from Grace's Little Note  in two different places and heat embossed it as before. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set. Once the stamping was done, I moved the banners to my card base, and attached them with foam tape. The final touch? Sequins of course! I picked these ...

Splendid Birthday Roses

Jill here for Kennedy Grace Creations , welcoming you who know and love them, as well as those of you new to this product line and blog!  This month we have a gorgeous Mood Board with some of my favorite colors (see below).  My card, of course inspired by it, uses the stamp sets  Splendid Roses and Beautiful Blooms - Sweet Rose for the sentiment.  I used 2 KGCs sequin mixes on my card, Cotton Candy and Enchanted Evening .  This month, as soon as I saw the mood board I knew what I wanted to do.  I recently received the Splendid Roses stamp set from Kennedy Grace Creations , and was itching to use it.  I also recently bought an Avery Elle cover die called Horizontal Stripes .  It has a lovely circle cut out in the middle of the stripes (perfect for my roses!).  The two in my mind were meant to be together. February Mood Board I first stamped the roses image onto a NSW 80# cardstock (superior for blending Copics )...

Happy New Year from Kennedy Grace Creations!

Happy New Year to you all!  It's Brenda here, and I'm kicking off 2018 for Kennedy Grace Creations .  This month we are switching it up a bit and instead of having a mood board, we have a fun Tic Tac Toe Board for inspiration. I picked the bottom row to inspire my card so I will be using buttons, sequins and flowers on my creation.  It seemed so perfect with all the wonderful flower sets and the awesome sequin collections.  I chose to use the beautiful stamp set Kindness Medley  and a wonderful sequin collection called Enchanted Evening .  Here's what happened - I stamped the flower (Tic) image three times on heavyweight vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I colored the flowers on the back of the vellum using Copic Markers.  The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine ink to get the nice dark image.  I love the size of this stamp which is also in the Kindness Medley set.  I put my ScanNCut ...

Flower box

I know Christmas is on everyone's mind right now but I'm bringing you some floral delights today!   I thought it was about time I make a box card and I knew just which flowers to use!   Without any delay, here is my first picture of today's project. Isn't it just lovely??  All of the flowers are from the same stamp set -- Friendship Blessings .  The set comes with the main cluster of three images but I wanted some single flowers.  With a bit of creative masking and delicate cutting, I managed to get several "single" flowers to use for this project.  I stamped the flowers several times on Cryogen White cardstock.  I used Copic markers to color all of them in with a range that matched the floral paper I used.  I also colored a piece of cardstock in the same green I used for the stems and cut out several greenery pieces with a die. I made the box from Stampin' Up Blushing Bride cardstock and stamped a background design with Lost L...

A Christmas Note

It's Brenda back with another share.  Can you believe, if you celebrate Christmas, only 6 more days.  I have to admit, I still have a few cards to post tomorrow but thankfully they were all done awhile back.  I'm sharing one with you today that I made using Grace's Little Note  from the  Kennedy Grace Creations  store. Grace's Little Note For this card I used a masking technique to stamp the flowers along the diagonal and then fussy cut them along the leafy edge.  I LOVE fussy cutting and find it to be a wonderful way to just tune out and enjoy my crafty time.  The flowers were colored with Copic markers with a little Stickles added to the center and then scattered for some shine.  I chose to color them red and green for that traditional Christmas feel but I tell you these Grace's Little Note flowers would work well in any color for any occasion . The sentiments were added, one die cut the other heat embossed.  Here ...

Watercolour Hydrangeas

Hello crafty friends! It's Donna here, and I've been playing with watercolours and the beautiful Hydrangea stamp from Kennedy Grace Creations. You may not know this, but back in the day before I had time to make cards, I was the head of the Japanese department at our local Grammar School. One of my ex students came to visit me the other day, and we got to talking about card making, and ending up having a crafty session with watercolour backgrounds.  It is so lovely to have students who see you as more than just a means to an end, as I worked very hard for my students, especially the senior students, who needed a lot of extra support. This card today uses one of the backgrounds that I made with her. I just love the loose look of watercolour that continues 'outside the lines'. The image is stamped in Versamark ink. To make the sentiment, I ran the painted panel through my die cutting machine with a happy die, being very careful to keep all the small pieces ...

Joy Peace Love, December Mood Board Card

December is here and Christmas is getting near!  Jill here, and I'm loving the Kennedy Grace Creations Mood Board this month (see below).  I continued my playtime with Yupo paper and Ranger Alcohol Inks to create the background for my card.  I think this one turned out fabulous!  I used just 2 colors of alcohol ink, Stream and the Pearl Mixative , along with the Blending Solution .  Since I knew this was going to be the background, and I didn't want to cover too much of it up, I decided to add some die cutting in the center of the card, make it a shaker element (I do love Shakers, you probably noticed!) and then add some simple, elegant floral images from Kennedy Grace Creations (white heat-embossed) to two opposing corners.                                                        Here's what I did.  After the...

Blue Christmas

Hi friends!  It's Brenda here on the Kennedy Grace blog today.  I'm sharing a card I created after pondering the wonderful December inspiration board above.  There are so many things I love about this board.  Blue is my favorite color and Christmas is my most favorite time of year, so that's where I started. I decided to make a shaker card using some of the gorgeous Kennedy Grace sequin mixes.  For this card I used Chantilly Cream and Ocean Water which look as if they were taken right off the mood board.  If you look closely you can see the beautiful iridescence of the Chantilly Cream .  LOVE THEM! I started by cutting the ornament shape from a speciality white cardstock called Stardust, 2 sheets of fun foam and a blue metallic cardstock.  I glued the fun foam together adhered that to card base made of the same Stardust cardstock.  I adhered the metallic ornament in place and added the Kennedy Grace sequins.  I am notor...

Birthday Rose - December Mood Board

Hello, and Happy Sunday to you all! It's  Donna  here, and I'm so happy to be sharing with you again. Hasn’t this year flown by? I can't believe December is here already. Every year seems to bring so much that is unexpected, some bad but much of it good. Mostly, all this unexpected extra activity mainly just makes for a whole lot of busyness that I try to get rid of every January when I work out my new year’s resolutions. ( I've been unsuccessful so far, but next year's a new year, right?) Isn’t this month’s Mood Board Gorgeous?  I love the cool colours and the silver sparkle. I’ve tried to capture some of this loveliness in my card this month. I used the Just a Rose stamp set for my main image and stamped it in Memento ink, so that I could colour the image with my Copics. I grabbed out  and sampled all my light blue Copics and used different combinations for each petal, moving from blues to blue greens to blue violets. Once I had coloured the rose, I cu...

God's Greatest gift

Hello holiday crafters, it's Jill in full Christmas swing here on the Kennedy Grace Creations Blog!!   My card today is called " God's Greatest Gift . "  I wanted to shake things up a bit by using a technique I had never used before - Yupo paper and Ranger alcohol inks .  I created my card background using several colors (in hindsight I would have used fewer) and the silver metallic mixative (love it!).  I then embossed the Yupo paper with a Sizzix Christmas snowflakes embossing folder that I discovered in my stash (I don't tend to use a lot of embossing folders, so I sometimes forget about them).  But that was exactly what this Yupo paper needed to make it look like a Christmas background! I then die cut Penny Black's Manger die from the middle of the central embossed snowflake on the card panel, then die cut it again from NSW #110 cardstock.  I inlaid the white die cut into the Yupo paper, then adhered some clear acetate to the back side of ...
