Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower Card

Hi everyone!  I'm here today to share a card created using some gorgeous products from  Kennedy Grace Creations .  Here's my card: To create this card, I first stamped the beautiful sunflower image from the  Beautiful Bloom - Sunflower Stamp Set with some Versamark Ink onto some Canson XL Watercolor Paper.  I then embossed the image with some white embossing powder.  Next, I painted the image with my Zig Markers and a water brush.  I used the following colors: Center of Sunflower: Dark Brown and Brown Petals: Brown, Yellow Leaves and Stem: Green, Light Green Next, I cut the water colored panel out with a stitched rectangle die and then adhered it to some design paper, then adhered the entire panel onto a standard A2 sized card base.  I stamped the sentiment, also from the stamp set, onto the panel.  I then adhered some beautiful sequins from the  Lemon Sorbet Sequin Mix onto the panel.  This was a really easy ...

Inspired by Sunflowers

Hi friends!  It's Brenda here with my first post as a KGD designer.  What do you think of the gorgeous mood board we've been sharing with you?  I love the cool, crisp weather and the beautiful show that nature puts on during this season. Though my home is in Hawaii now, I grew up in Kansas and had to take the sunflower and the gorgeous colors as my inspiration.  I used Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower  for my feature image.  I stamped the image on watercolor paper with my MISTI using Smokey Grey VersaFine ink and the heat embossed it with clear powder.    I used Koi watercolors to color the image and ended up fussy cutting them both.  The lovely sentiment is from the set, it was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa.  I stamped the sentiment on a panel with distress ink on the edges.  I added a few sequins, from the Autumn Blessings mix which you may have noticed in the new release.   I'm hoping you will find some insp...

Summery Thank You

Hello, hello! Erica back on the blog today with a bright, cheery and summery Thank You card. Yep, I'm continuing my thank you card collection. Now, what says summer better than sunflowers? I can't think of many things that score a higher summer score than the lovely sunflower myself so I decided to stamp and mask a few on today's card. I had already decided to use my Zig markers for this card so I used MFT hybrid ink on water colour card stock, I have not had any problems with this ink running or smudging while using my Zig markers on it. The first sunflower  I stamped just off the panel and then I did the same thing on the other side of the panel. Getting my masks out, I covered up the bits I didn't want to overlap and stamped the third one in the middle, slightly lower than the others. Once it was all stamped and ready, it was time to colour! I love this part! It's so much fin to see how it  all starts to come to life and become a small piece of art.... ...

Spring is here!!

Hi Patricia here , with a new card using Beautiful Bloom Sunflower  .  I make a clean and simple card. First I stamp my image on Watercolor paper using versafine ink, then I mask the image and stamp with the same ink the background stamp , then I color my background using two of the new oxide distress inks and stamp my sentiment.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. Copic Coloring - Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower Window Card

Hello cardmakers! Meg here, with a quick and easy, dimensional sunflower window card. This card features the Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower stamp set and Scalloped Stitched Stacked Rectangle Dies. To start, I die cut 2 panels from white cardstock using the largest of the scalloped rectangle dies. I then used the scalloped circle die (which I purchased on Amazon), from the center of one of the panels. The other, solid panel, was then stamped with the sunflower image using  Copic marker friendly ink. (I used Hero Arts - Intense Black Hybrid Ink). I colored the sunflower using the following Copic marker colors: Y11, Y06 and Y18. To color the leaves I used my favorite green combination: YG03, YG17 and YG67. I then stamped the sentiment, "Wishing you a sweet bithday,' from the Spendid Roses clear stamp set. I stamped it on the bottom of the solid white panel with the die cut circle. I added dimensional foam tape behind that panel and adhered it directly on top of ...

Layered gift tag

Hello, Erica back on the blog! Hey, hey, hello, how are we all doing today? Today's project is a gift tag, something I don't make very often. I'm not sure why but it tends to be right at the back of my 'what to do today' list. To remedy that, I decided to make one and maybe find out why I'm so bad at making these. I made my first mistake right away in that I stamped up some flowers, on copic friendly paper of course, without measuring how big a tag I was going to make. This I didn't even realise until after I had coloured the flowers (one of the flower stems from  Grace's Happy Heart  stamp set). Blah, right? Well, onwards and upwards! I cut out a tag using a Pretty Pink Posh stitched tag die and then stamped up another few flowers on it and coloured those in too. I went quite pink for these flowers and vibrant green for the stems and leaves. Something I've started doing quite recently, being inspired by the wonderful Kathy Racoosin, is outli...

Super Simple Bookmarks

Hey, everyone! Rachel here today with a quick and easy project using a variety of Kennedy Grace stamp sets! I have 3 cats, two of which love to steal and eat my bookmarks. I read A LOT, so this is a problem for me! I decided to the situation by sitting down and creating several bookmarks to have on hand for when they decide to strike again! I used my Bookmark die and cut out 8 separate bookmarks from white cardstock. I set four aside and then used a variety of stamp sets to stamp on my remaining four. I used my Copics to color in each image and then added my halo around each of them as well. To keep the bleeding from my Copics hidden, I took those first four bookmarks and adhered them to the backs of my colored bookmarks. It helps to make them a little more durable and it keeps any bleeding from showing - a win-win in my book! I finished them off by adding a little baker's twine. Super simple project, but it definitely solves my cat-bookmark problem. At least for now!...

Smile!

Hi everyone! It's not long until Christmas now, who else is excited?? As much as I am looking forward to the holidays, I'm a bit Christmas-card-outed... I've been making them for months now and as the rebel that I am, I am sharing a flowery friendship card today instead of a Christmassy one. It's not even red, that's how much of a rebel I am! Ooooh, hold your horses, right?! Clearly I have lost one too many marbles... Surely it's no surprise that I am a huge fan of flowers by now? This  Beautiful Bloom-Sweet Rose  stamp set I've loved since the first time I saw it and watercolouring it is one of my favorite ways to bring it to life. Using an anti-static tool generously all over the card stock, I then stamped the image with VersaMark ink and sprinkled white embossing powder all over. Tap off the excess before setting it with a heat gun and you are good to go! Using my Zig Markers and a Prima Marketing water colour brush (the kind that is filled with ...

Coffee and Friends

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I sure did as I spent it with a couple of crafty friends and we mostly crafted all weekend long. We did manage to drag ourselves away from the craft table for a few hours to enjoy the Christmas market and I'm not going to lie, there was a lot of eating involved! I don't know how much coffee I consumed over the weekend but it was a lot and that was the inspiration behind today's card and matching gift tag. Although I am a straight up espresso kind of gal, the stronger the better really, I love the idea of flavoured coffees. Not so much drinking them though but the idea always appeals to me and today's sequin mix is called  Mocha Vanilla Latte , it just screamed 'USE ME'. It seriously looks good enough to eat! For the card and the tag, I picked out coffee coloured card stock in several shades and picked a metallic copper one to be the main colour. On Kraft card stock I stamped up coffee beans wi...

Kindness card

Hello, Erica here with a quick card and a short post today. Not like me I know, but I am so tired these days as I'm adjusting to a ne gym routine and clean eating. Let me tell you, this healthy living stuff isn't for the faint-hearted...! Let's get to business shall we? I have been on a bit of a roll with ink blending recently and I had an idea I wanted to try out which involved ink blending colours and stamping a flower on top. Kind of like reverse colouring, sort of. For this card I decided to use the  Beautiful Bloom-Sunflower  stamp because it also has a lovely sentiment about kindness which I wanted to use. November is usually a month of generosity and spreading kindness so it was a no-brainer really. When I do ink blending I always use water colour paper, it just glides on so much easier than normal card stock/paper and if you want to splatter water droplets on it after to get that lovely dotty effect, it doesn't warp the paper either. I picked out the co...

Vintage Tea - Copic Coloring and Heat Embossing

Hello crafty friends! Meghan here, to share a fast, clean and simple card using the Vintage Tea stamp set and sentiment from Beautiful Blooms- Sunflower. The pink card base was turned into a background by repeat stamping 'Life is Better with Friends' sentiment stamp with VersaMark ink. I then added white embossing powder and heat set for a smooth and raised finish. I stamped and colored the gorgeous teapot on some Neenah Classic Crest 80lb cardstock. I colored using Copic markers and fussy cut out the image. I adhered it to the card base using foam adhesive. To add some finishing touches I simply colored the roses on the teapot with Wink of Stella shimmer brush pen and added some fabulous Kennedy Grace Creations sequins. Hope you like my clean and simple friendship card! ~Meghan Love and Laughter,

Spotlighting Kindness Card Using Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower Stamps

Hello crafty friends. This is Meghan Shea here with my first card and blogpost for Kennedy Grace Creations. I'm excited and honored to be a designer for this fabulous company. Thanks Michelle for giving me this opportunity. Blah blah blah, right? Onto the gorgeous sunflower card!!!! I used the Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower clear stamp set and Stacked Stitched Rectangles Dies to create this card using the spotlighting technique. I used some spray ink shimmer mists to create the background and cut it from the largest rectangle. Using my Misti stamping tool, I stamped the beautiful sunflower image onto the spray inked panel with VersaMark ink. I then added white embossing powder and used my heat gun to melt it. Keeping the stamp in the same location on the Misti, I then stamped the sunflower onto a smaller white stitched rectangle using black Memento ink. I colored the Beautiful Blooms Sunflower on the white panel using my Copic Markers. For the leaves I used the...
