New release blog hop with Erica

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Welcome to Kennedy Grace Creations September Blog Hop! We are so happy you have stopped by and joined us for this very special event! Our newest release of Stamp and Sequins is now live and available for purchase in the  store ! Here is what I have created for you I have had my Faber-Castell Polochromos pencils for quite a while now, I do believe they were part of my wedding anniversary present last year.. in  July... so yeah, they have been around for a while but I've felt too intimidated to try them out. Nuts or what?? Well, for today's card I decided to be brave and just get on with it. And wow. Now I can't believe I waited to long to try them! I decided to use black card stock and gold glitter heat embossing for my card and the colours practically glow!! It's so cool! Right, I'm skipping ahead a little bit here, let's go back to the beginning. I have used the K...

Distress Oxide fun

Hi, hi, hello! Erica on the blog with another super simple, but rather eye-catching, card. Recently I got the second lot of Distress Oxide inks and ooooh, that Picked Raspberry... L-O-V-E!! Well, I simply had to use it on several projects right away because #lovepink, am I right? Getting a piece of smooth water colour card stock out, as well as arming myself with Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber in the Distress Oxide inks too because options. Right-o, I basically went to town with blending and adding colour as I wanted the background really, REALLY vivid. Once I was happy it was colourful enough, I spritzed some water drops on it and lifted that off with a piece of kitchen roll. To hurry up the drying process, I used my heat gun on it until it was bone dry so I could run it through my Big Shot with a stitched die. Then it was time to add images and sentiments. As my plan was to heat emboss the image in white on vellum I picked the one I think makes the bigges...

Heartfelt Thanks with Erica

Hello, Erica back on the blog today. I've swapped a day with poor Rachel who has done her back in but she's going to cover one of my dates while I'm moving house at the end of the month and beginning of next. A Thank You card seemed appropriate for today's post with that in mind. I stamped up the lovely bloom from  Just A Rose  and coloured it in with my Copic markers. I wanted a light and bright look so I used a flicking motion and left plenty of white space on the petals. The leaves I did in a similar manner but the stamens in the middle got a dark pink colour. I fussy cut the flower out and added foam tape to the back of it while I was in a cutting frenzy. Once that was done I set it aside and started on the background. Grabbing my new Distress Oxide inks I blended some green shades all over a card panel. My first idea was to stamp up some leaves on it and make it look like a rose bush on which the flower would sit. I decided on trying something new inste...

Foiling frenzy!

Hello, Erica on the blog today with my first post for June. I have two cards for you today too! A friend of mine is going through some tough stuff at the moment and I wanted to make a couple of encouraging cards to send to her to let her know I'm always here for her, no matter how far away I am in actual distance. I decided to make a big background using the  Splendid Roses  stamp set and all my pre-cut masks came in so handy for this. My panel was slightly larger than an A2 size and I used my MISTI to make sure the stamped images were nice and solid as I planned to scan it, print if off and then foil it using my Minc machine. Once I was happy with the pattern I did just that and chose Pink Minc foil on it. The negative was so pretty I decided to keep that and use it on another card (this is how the second card in this post came to be.) The foiled piece I die cut using a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die and then again in foam to add some height to it. When it came...

Kindness Masking Hydrangeas Card

Hello crafty friends. Meg here with a clean and simple card using the gorgeous Beautiful Blooms - Hydrangea stamp set. This card is easy to reproduce. I simply made one mask and stamped the hydragea twice in the bottom left corner of the card. I then colored with my copic markers. For the purple flowers I used BV01, BV02 and BV04. For the white clowers I used C1 and C3. All of the flower centers and leaves were colored with YG00. To finish off the card I heat embossed the sentiment from the Kindness stamp set by Winnie & Walter. I hope you like my clean and simple one layer card! Thanks for visiting! Something a bit different

Hello, hello! Erica on the blog today with my second card of 2017. Boy, does time fly.. I can't believe it's the 15th of January already! Yikes. It's not just me, is it? Where is the time going? I can't quite keep up at times, it feels like. And I'm not even overly busy to be perfectly honest but still it seems like the days just poof by. With that in mind, I'm going to keep it relatively short today. Short for me anyway, lol! I know I usually jibber-jabber away about all aspects of the card of the day but today, I don't really see how I can drag it out too much. It really is a super simple card! My (current) favorite colour combination is navy and gold. I can't quite put my finger on why I love it so much but it just works in my mind. My original idea was to have a cutout saying 'thanks' but I made the navy panel too small and I had already heatembossed the lovely  Just A Rose  in gold embossing powder on it by the time I realised this. ...

Spotlighting Kindness Card Using Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower Stamps

Hello crafty friends. This is Meghan Shea here with my first card and blogpost for Kennedy Grace Creations. I'm excited and honored to be a designer for this fabulous company. Thanks Michelle for giving me this opportunity. Blah blah blah, right? Onto the gorgeous sunflower card!!!! I used the Beautiful Blooms - Sunflower clear stamp set and Stacked Stitched Rectangles Dies to create this card using the spotlighting technique. I used some spray ink shimmer mists to create the background and cut it from the largest rectangle. Using my Misti stamping tool, I stamped the beautiful sunflower image onto the spray inked panel with VersaMark ink. I then added white embossing powder and used my heat gun to melt it. Keeping the stamp in the same location on the Misti, I then stamped the sunflower onto a smaller white stitched rectangle using black Memento ink. I colored the Beautiful Blooms Sunflower on the white panel using my Copic Markers. For the leaves I used the...
