May birthday card

Hello everyone and hello to May! Erica on the blog today with a birthday card, which seems rather appropriate as it May is my birthday month. I absolutely love birthdays and celebrations, not just my own as I think it's a great reason to make someone feel extra special and treasured. The age doesn't really matter. Just take me, I will be 25 on the 11th, for something like the 13th time... details, details. I'm not into the whole 'ageing gracefully' thing, nope. Not me. Noooooo, Siree! But birthday cake? Oh, count me in! Right, all this talk of ageing is giving me wrinkles and grey hairs so let's get to the card instead. I have a penchant for flowers so it should not come to any surprise I decided to use the lovely Just A Rose  and my beloved Zig markers for this card. I wanted a bit of a frame for my sentiment so I stamped the flower slightly off frame in three places, with a little bit of help of a mask, in black ink and then heat embossed them with clear...

Spring is here!!

Hi Patricia here , with a new card using Beautiful Bloom Sunflower  .  I make a clean and simple card. First I stamp my image on Watercolor paper using versafine ink, then I mask the image and stamp with the same ink the background stamp , then I color my background using two of the new oxide distress inks and stamp my sentiment.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. Love and Laughter,

Out of my comfort zone!

Hello! Erica back on the blog today with a card that's completely out of my comfort zone colour scheme-wise. I had several 'yikes' moments while colouring this one! Purple is one of those colours that I'm not a fan of personally, I can't wear it without looking like I'm on my way to my own funeral. It sucks any rosiness right out of my face and I look pale and grey. Not the best of look, is it? I'm not that good at using purples when it comes to colouring either but this year I'm making an effort to step out of my comfort zone and trying things I tend to stay clear of. It can be a painful process and often my husband will know when I'm doing it as instead of a serene and happy wife colouring away, he has a grumpy and grunting red-faced grizzly bear impersonator..! This card was no different but I think it turned out very pretty in the end as I kept working on it for a couple of days without throwing it in the bin (this is huge progress for me) ...

CAS Black and White Shimmer Sweet Rose Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! Meg here with a quick and simple, elegant birthday card using the Beautiful Blooms - Sweet Rose Card. This handmade card has to be the easiest and quickest I have ever posted. To start, I cut the largest Scalloped Stacked Stitched Rectangle die from black cardstock. I then used the Beautiful Blooms - Sweet Rose clear stamps and stamped the happy birthday sentiment, and 3 roses randomly across the black panel. To finish it off, I colored each rose using the Spectrum Noir, clear shimmer, Sparkle Brush Pen. I added some black fun foam to the backside of the panel, and adhered it to a white, top-folding card base. Done!! Hope you like this easy heat embossing, Sweet Rose card! Kindness Masking Hydrangeas Card

Hello crafty friends. Meg here with a clean and simple card using the gorgeous Beautiful Blooms - Hydrangea stamp set. This card is easy to reproduce. I simply made one mask and stamped the hydragea twice in the bottom left corner of the card. I then colored with my copic markers. For the purple flowers I used BV01, BV02 and BV04. For the white clowers I used C1 and C3. All of the flower centers and leaves were colored with YG00. To finish off the card I heat embossed the sentiment from the Kindness stamp set by Winnie & Walter. I hope you like my clean and simple one layer card! Thanks for visiting! Vintage Tea Blessings Card, Coloring One Layer Wonder

Hello stamping and card-making friends. Meghan here, to share this gorgeous one-layer-wonder,  vinatge tea blessings card. I used the fabulous KGC stacked stitched rectangles and cut the largest rectangle from white cardstock. I then stamped these beautiful images from the vintage tea clear stamp set using Copic friendly ink (simon says stamp intense black). I stamped the cup then masked the image to stamp the teapot behind the cup. I colored all of the images with my Copic markers. Then it was time for the fun details. I went a little heavy on the little finishing touches since I was planning on this to be just a simple one layer greeting card. I added some metallic accents using my Sakura metallic and Stardust gelly roll pens. Lastly, using a fine tip black pen I went over all of the stamped black lines for the whole card. I know this seems like a tedious and unneeded step however, I assure you - it makes a HUGE difference and was totally worth the tim...
