HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017, Winter Wonderland Heat Embossing, Copics, Shaker Card

Happy 2017 my crafty friends! Meg here, and I would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and successful year ahead. 2017 is going to be a good one - please enjoy my adorable critter winter wonderland greeting card to bring in the new year.

I stamped a Hero Arts/Basic Grey stars background stamp onto mixed media cardstock using Versamark, a clear sticky ink. I then added white embossing powder and melted the powder with my heat gun. This yeilds a raised, shiny appearence. The stamped, embossed design will then resist water-based mediums. Therefore, I added some distress inks to the panel. I used my mini ink blending tools and 3 different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks; Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistacio and Salty Ocean. I am in LOVE with this color combination lately!! Perfect for a cold winter scene!

Once the background was complete, I chose this adorable critter stamp set and colored him using my Copic markers. I used the following Copic marker colors to color the entire squirrel image: C1, C3, V04, V06, V09, BG05, BG07, BG09, N6

I fussy cut out my winter squirrel and was struggling where to go with the card. I then remebered I had some gorgeous Kennedy Grace lilac and ocean water sequins - so had to make shaker card!!!

I used the Kennedy Grace Stacked Stitched Rectagles to make a sqaure frame for the sequin pocket. I cut the frame from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 130lb cardstock 6 times. I adhered each frame together, back-to-back, with the clear acetate window sheet between the top two layers. I added the sequin mixes and then adhered to the inked, star background panel. I added adorable colored critter to the left side of the shaker card and the card was finished!

I hope you enjoyed my Winter Wonderland heat embossing and Copic coloring greeting card. Happy 2017 everyone!!
