Blue Christmas

Hi friends!  It's Brenda here on the Kennedy Grace blog today.  I'm sharing a card I created after pondering the wonderful December inspiration board above.  There are so many things I love about this board.  Blue is my favorite color and Christmas is my most favorite time of year, so that's where I started.

I decided to make a shaker card using some of the gorgeous Kennedy Grace sequin mixes.  For this card I used Chantilly Cream and Ocean Water which look as if they were taken right off the mood board.  If you look closely you can see the beautiful iridescence of the Chantilly Cream.  LOVE THEM!

I started by cutting the ornament shape from a speciality white cardstock called Stardust, 2 sheets of fun foam and a blue metallic cardstock.  I glued the fun foam together adhered that to card base made of the same Stardust cardstock.  I adhered the metallic ornament in place and added the Kennedy Grace sequins.  I am notorious for forgetting to put the acetate onto my shakers, but this time managed to remember to get that done.  I used tacky glue for adhering all the layers and was pleased with the bond I got.

After that shaker element was finished I added a little evergreen bough which had been dusted with clear rock candy distress glitter.  All that was left was to add the sentiment and a skinny twine bow with even more glisten.  Hopefully the recipient will enjoy all the sparkle and sheen this card shares.

We would love for you to join us in using the Kennedy Grace mood board for inspiration and would love it even more if you would share your creation on FB or Instagram.  Thanks so much for popping in today.

Aloha,
Brenda

Happy Birthday

Its Karen back with you today.  I'd like to share a softly coloured Happy Birthday card.  This card features the Beautiful Blooms - Hydrangea stamp set.  Its stamped in soft pink ink so the lines blend and fade with the colouring.  The look I was going for was like the image was behind vellum, soft and muted.

I coloured the flowers in pencil and shaded the pinks out with white to make them really soft.  In the centre of each flower is a small amount of green with white gel pen over the top.  This added a bit of interest and gave the flowers a little more life, otherwise they were a little flat.  The outside of the bloom is shaded in very soft grey blended out with white.  The leaves are done the same way with soft green, again blended out with white.

I used a piece of green cardstock on top of pink to bring the card together.  Final step was to stamp the sentiment in black to add a little drama to the card and draw the eye to the flower.  Finished off with a few sequins from the …

October Mood Board with LeeAnn

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here today with my take on the Kennedy Grace Designs October Mood Board. If you are not familiar with mood boards they are great jumping points for a project, whether you use one of the images as the inspiration or the color palette alone.

For my project today I decided to use the color palette, starting with the black and going from there. Using the Just A Rose Stamp Set, I stamped the Rose image using VersaMark clear ink, I then sprinkled Perfect Pearls in Copper over the image and brushed off any excess. I then fussy cut around the image to use it for my project.  I then prepared my layers for the card base. my main base is Kraft cardstock in a2 size. my next layer which is purple was trimmed to 4" x 5.25", and then the green trimmed to 3.75" x 5". I used Tear Tape to adhere the layers together as well as the rose. I used a piece of black cardstock to make a fish tail banner, I stamped the sentiment using Memento T…
